It has been a long time since I published anything with writing. As a shiny new high school graduate, I chose a college with a strong creative writing department. I have been a voracious reader as long as I can remember and planned to join the ranks of my favorite authors.
Writing billions of papers on Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman ground me down, and I eventually slid over to the Art Department. I never let go of my goal to write a great novel, but it is definitely filed in the long term goal compartment.
I lost myself in caring for two autistic kids (and parenting in general) and my art and my writing fell by the wayside. To say I am trying to find myself sounds really cliche, but that’s what we do right, all the time? Our lives change, good and bad things happen, and we have to rediscover ourselves in new territory.

I considered pouring out my whole life story in one big gush, but I think installments might be better.
This substack space is ready and waiting. Filling it with art and writing is a goal for 2024. What better time to start than with the 100 Day Project.

I still have no idea what I am doing today. Typical Laura winging it. I mean, I just finished a challenge where I wore the same dress for 100 days, surely I can accomplish anything…
Great start and love that flowchart!
Yay you! Glad to see this post pop up. Looking forward to your 100.
