I understand deeply the work of being a dutiful (step)daughter and caregiver…and I know your plate remains very full in spite of the void Jodi leaves. Please take care of your tender self. Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. We are never ready to lose someone we love. I’m sure your stepmom tried to do what she thought was best for everybody involved and it couldn’t have been easy on her either. I’m glad that you were at the point in your relationship where you appreciated her and have some good memories. That’s what we’ll see you through the heartbreak. 🙏💕
Hello. My father chose the same thing with the same disease. Died 3 years ago on Oct 20th. My boys 18 and 20 at the time….boy was it tough. They loved him fierce. So many life moments have happened since then. Graduations, weddings (baking of bread…ha, his love too) and he isn’t here….but he has left an indelible mark on their heart and I see it everyday and that has been way more comforting than I could’ve ever imagined. Sending peace.
